    What is IELTS?

IELTS, also known as the International English Language Testing System, is one of the world’s most trusted English proficiency tests. If you plan to study abroad, apply for a work visa, or migrate to English-speaking countries like Canada, Australia, UK or New Zealand, IELTS is often a mandatory requirement.

IELTS is a standardized English test designed to measure the language abilities of non-native English speakers. The exam checks your English skills in four areas: Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking. IELTS is jointly managed by the British Council, IDP and Cambridge Assessment English, making it one of the most reliable English tests globally.

Over 11,000 universities, immigration departments and organizations accept IELTS scores worldwide, which makes it a key requirement for international education and migration.

Difference between IELTS Core & Academic

IELTS is available in two formats based on your purpose for taking the test.

    IELTS Academic

IELTS Academic is designed for students who want to:
It checks whether you have the academic English skills needed to succeed in a university environment.

    IELTS General Training

IELTS General is for people who want to:

General Training focuses on day-to-day English communication and workplace language.

    IELTS Scoring System

The IELTS score system is designed to measure how well you can use the English language in real-life, academic, and professional situations. Instead of giving a percentage or grade, IELTS uses a band score system ranging from Band 1 to Band 9, where each band represents a specific level of English proficiency.

Understanding how the IELTS scoring works helps you target the right band for study abroad, PR, or work requirements.
    IELTS consists of four modules:

    • Listening
    • Reading
    • Writing
    • Speaking

Each module is scored individually on a scale of 1 to 9. After the test, you receive:

    • 4 individual scores
    • 1 overall band score (average of all modules)
